PATERNITY TEST

Would you like to have a DNA test that establishes or excludes biological paternity?
You can easily do so through this paternity test at our lancing center.

The test is performed via a cheek swab on both father and child: this can be done on site.
We will give you all the instructions on how to take the samples correctly.
Several forms must also be filled out, and we will give you the necessary explanations.

The result is available approximately after 1 month.

Notice:

  • The written consent of 1 of the parents (or guardian) is always needed to administer the test.

  • If the child is over 18 years old, the consent of the adult child is also required through a separate application form.

  • The test taken is NOT legally valid and is therefore NOT legally/forensically binding. For a test to be legally valid, among other things, it must be taken under strict conditions and in the presence of certain official witnesses. However, this test is equivalent in terms of result.

Professional analysis through AZ Delta

We cooperate with the Laboratory Medicine Department of AZ Delta, thus ensuring extremely high quality and reliable results. All data are kept confidential by our team and we ensure that all samples are delivered correctly for laboratory testing.

So you don’t have to send the samples yourself like some other “do-it-yourself kits” you can find online.

You will also receive this info if you pick up the test kit from us.

Collection is done by cheek swabs: always take 2 swabs per person.

  1. Open the sleeve and rub the wiper along the inside of the cheek, up and down a few times, left and right, and carefully put the wiper back into the sleeve .
  2. Do the same with the second wiper for the other cheek.
  3. Identify both swabs by writing name, first name and date of collection on the outside of the sleeve.
  4. Repeat from the beginning for person 2.

If the parent performs the collection from the child: remove swabs with gloves to avoid contamination with foreign DNA.

You will also receive this info if you pick up the test kit from us.

The collection can be done at home but the samples are best brought in to Betamedics as soon as possible after collection. Ideally, samples should be frozen after collection, but if they can be brought in immediately, freezing is done at Betamedics.

If bringing in immediately after collection is not possible, samples should be frozen and brought in frozen.
Samples are brought in along with the request form and consent form.

Result

The test result is known after about 1 month and is sent by secure e-mail to the mail address entered on the application form.
