CHECK-UP EXTENDED MAN
€ 199
Having your blood tested for everything is impossible.
Through this Check up extended panel for men, however, more than 40 important parameters are measured in blood and urine that give a very good picture on your general health.
This extended check up obviously gives a lot more information than the basic check up that measures only 12 parameters.
This comprehensive check-up will thus give you an insight into the proper functioning of the main functions of your body.
This will make it possible, if necessary or desired, to adjust your lifestyle and, by repeating this blood test, to monitor its effects.
How do I prepare?
The optimal time for blood collection is inthe morning after bed rest and overnight fasting. Fasting means not eating and drinking only water after 10 p.m. the night before.
Not being sober mainly affects the determination of substances resorbed from the diet as such (glucose, triglycerides, etc.). Indirectly, lipemic samples (elevated triglycerides) can technically interfere with the determinations. A number of parameters (e.g., iron, phosphate, cortisol) also show fluctuations during the day.
Depending on the type of study, midstream urine must be produced or first-voided urine:
Collection of midstream urine sample: for ordinary urinalysis
The examination requires the middle portion of the (best first morning) urine, called midstream urine.
For women:
- Beforehand, wash the pubic area with a washcloth with water:
- Spread the labia and clean with water (no soap!) or with a damp cloth (always from front to back) and dry with toilet paper.
- Keep the labia spread when urinating.
For men:
- Pull the foreskin back and clean with water(no soap!) and dry with toilet paper.
- Hold the foreskin back when urinating
- First pee a little in the toilet and then collect some urine in a clean urine jar by holding it in the urinal.
- Then close the jar tightly with the lid.
- If necessary, write your name and date of birth on the jar and store it in the refrigerator.
Collection of“first void” urine sample (for STD testing):
First void urine means first discharged urine (first void = first 10 to max. 20 ml). Patients should not have urinated in the last two hours before collection (so preferably morning urine = first urine when getting up). Only the first 20 ml should be collected. The rest of the urine is further urinated out in the toilet.
If first-void morning urine is not possible, urine may also be made on site provided no urination has occurred in the last 2 hours. This first-void urine (only the first 20 ml of the urine stream; rest back out in toilet) should be collected in a sterile urine container.
Check-up of key functions in your body
This comprehensive check-up panel not only determines your cholesterol and complete lipid profile as a sign of cardiovascular risk. It also measures several indicators of good liver and kidney function. The panel also detects diabetes at an early stage. It gives a good picture of your thyroid function, necessary iron intake, calcium levels and healthy fluid balance (minerals and salts). A comprehensive examination of red blood cells (anemia), white blood cells (infection and blood cancer) and platelets is done. Finally, the examination is completed with a review of a urine sample for signs of kidney damage and diabetes.
Especially for men, PSA/free PSA is also measured as an initial screening for prostate cancer and other prostate abnormalities. This panel thus includes the panel Prostate Basics. If you are specifically concerned about possible prostate cancer, we strongly recommend the panel Prostate Premium which includes the advanced Phi score test for the best possible detection of prostate cancer.
The various analyses determined in the comprehensive check-up panel in a man are:
Total cholesterol
HDL cholesterol
LDL cholesterol
ratio HDL / Tot. Cholesterol
non-HDL cholesterol
triglycerides
glucose (sober)
ALT
creatinine + eGFR
CRP
AST
Alkaline phosphatase
GGT
Hemoglobin
MCV, MCH, MCHC
Red blood cells
Hematocrit
White blood cells (WBC).
Thrombocytes = platelets
WBC formula
TSH
FT4
Sodium
Potassium
Calcium
Iron
Ferritin
Transferrin
Iron saturation
uric acid
total protein
serum electrophoresis
25OH vitamin D
PSA total
free PSA
urine screening
This blood analysis must be done in the morning when you are sober, i.e. you should not eat anything after 8 p.m. the night before and only drink water. However, medication may be taken with some water. In addition, a urine sample is also required.
We recommend an annual check up comprehensive.
Results are generally available within 72 hrs.
All tests are conducted in collaboration with doctors and specialists from AZ Delta.
You can make an appointment quickly and discreetly.
